Due to the increased risk of injury and risk to the health of employees and the safety of property, work related to lifting and moving cargo is subject to special requirements, reflected in the Interindustry Rules for Carrying out Loading and Unloading Work dated 06/01/98
First of all, the rules for performing loading and unloading operations regulate the list of persons allowed for this type of work. The employee must undergo special instruction regarding labor protection rules and first aid methods, as well as on-site training. In the case of work involving mechanized equipment, the employee must have a document certifying the right to carry out this type of activity.
All work is carried out under the supervision of a specialist, who first organizes the safe execution of work and ensures that everyone involved in the process strictly follows the rules.

What needs to be done before starting work:

Safety rules when carrying out loading and unloading operations
- When carrying out work, you must protect your hands with gloves, and when working with lifting mechanisms, be sure to wear a helmet.
- Sharp objects should be kept in covers. Dishes and other glassware are stored in special boxes with internal partitions. It is strictly prohibited to work with cargo in containers that have damage and protruding fastenings.
- All loads on the surface of the platforms are placed evenly and stably.
- The speed of movement of the hand truck should not exceed 5 km/h.
- It is prohibited to be in a place where there is a risk of the load possibly falling or tipping over.
- Movement should be carried out in free space and be as short as possible. At the same time, you must not overtake or interfere with the movement of other loaders.
- Vehicles involved in loading and unloading operations must have brake chocks for their wheels.
- When rolling loads, workers can only be behind the rolled object.
- Loads can be carried manually. For men, the maximum permissible load is 50 kg, and if loading occurs with the help of a second worker and does not involve lifting, then up to 80 kg. Women are allowed to carry no more than 15 kg. Loads up to 500 kg are lifted using winches and other equipment, and above — using special equipment.
