In order to carry out international cargo transportation using vehicles, you will need a whole bunch of various documentation. It is quite difficult to understand this issue yourself, so in the matter of preparing the documents necessary for the transportation of goods it is better to use the help of experts.
TIR carnet
The shooting range is practically the main document for international cargo traffic. The purpose of its creation is to simplify the customs clearance procedure as much as possible.
This document is valid only in those countries that have signed the relevant convention. Currently, on the territory of the Russian Federation, this document does not apply to all types of cargo.
In theory, such a book should solve absolutely all problems at the border; in this case, the body that issues the shooting range vouches for the carrier, but in practice everything turns out to be much more complicated. First, it does not cover high-value cargo; secondly, starting from 2013, according to the legislation of the Russian Federation, this document could not serve as sufficient documentary support, which meant that the carrier needed to collect additional documents: guarantee certificates and sureties, bank guarantees, customs support documents.
Being a European document, the Tire is mainly necessary for moving around the countries of Western Europe, so it still remains in demand.
As an alternative to the TIR Carnet, cargo carriers can use documents such as guarantees from the recipient, a guarantee for cargo insurance from an insurance company, or use the services of a customs carrier.
International bill of lading (IWB)
This document in practice serves as evidence of international freight transport in accordance with the CMR Convention, including all the basic information about the cargo, so it is also one of the most important.
Without DEM it is impossible to carry out any international transportation. A very important circumstance is the fact that thanks to the charter of the convention, absolutely all rights and obligations of the parties are regulated, even including the issues of compensation for damage.
Other relevant documents for international transport
Other significant documents when carrying out international cargo transportation include the following documents:
- transit declaration – guarantee for goods that cross EU countries in transit;
- export declaration – must be registered in the case where the goods were directly produced in European countries and are needed for the export of cargo;
- invoice – it is also an invoice confirming the legality of the transaction between the seller and the buyer;
- entry permit for a truck;
- packing list;
- certificate of origin.
