The first stage of development of transport logistics began along with the development and complexity of the military industry. The fundamental study of this discipline in our country coincided with the reign of Nicholas I, whose military adviser, the Swiss G. V. Jomini, published the first scientific work on military logistics. However, at that time this term only meant providing the army with the necessary ammunition, food and uniforms.
The true history of the development of transport logistics in Russia began during the Great Patriotic War. In addition to supplying the army, it was necessary to ensure the evacuation of the most important enterprises inland, while maintaining the integrity and completeness of the equipment. At the same time, it was necessary to organize an uninterrupted supply of the front line with everything necessary for conducting military operations. This became possible only if competent logistics schemes were created.
The further development of transport logistics in Russia was caused not only by the general growth of economic production, but also by the need to ensure large-scale construction projects carried out in a short time. Faculties were opened in educational institutions to train specialists capable of organizing uninterrupted supply of these facilities.
With the advent of perestroika and the establishment of market relations, new disciplines appeared that could train specialists in the new economic situation. The growth of trade turnover both within the country and between different states inevitably led to the need to optimize logistics processes. Since the beginning of the 21st century, digital methods for planning and controlling logistics operations have been especially actively developing, which makes it possible to increase their efficiency.
Innovative directions for the development of transport logistics
Prospects for the development of transport logistics in the conditions of modern reality provide for complete information support for all processes. One of them is tracking cargo using GPS trackers that send information about their location online. In the future, it is planned to introduce automatic detection of the type of malfunction if it occurs and prompt transmission to mechanics for repairs. Electronic seals are also being developed that transmit information about the condition of the cargo, compliance with the conditions of its transportation, and also immediately report a violation of their integrity.
Another area of logistics development is timely notification of unfavorable road situations - accidents, traffic jams, repairs, forecasting their occurrence and adjusting routes.
There are also various electronic systems that allow you to quickly submit an application for the transportation of goods and obtain information about available vehicles, simplify the filing of customs declarations and facilitate communication between all participants in the logistics chain.
Only through the introduction of innovative technologies can further growth and development of transport logistics in Russia and the world be achieved.
