We know that in some municipal cities of any country there are no airports, but in regional cities and capitals they are usually built. However, there are five countries in the world that have no airports at all. How do they do this? They use airports in neighboring countries. Do you know about them?
1. San Marino
The Most Serene Republic, surrounded on all sides by Italy, is the oldest constitutional democracy in the world. It became independent from the Roman Empire in 301. San Marino has no port because the country has no access to the sea - although its borders are located about ten kilometers from the Adriatic Sea. The only solution is to use the airports of Bologna, Florence and Parma, since it is unrealistic to build so much infrastructure on an area of 60 square kilometers.
2. Vatican
A trip to the airport in a Catholic country is impossible for practical reasons, since the Vatican is located in the center of Rome, and any accident could lead to the loss of thousands of artistic and historical treasures. Therefore, it is preferable to book plane tickets in the Eternal City. It is unlikely that the current state of affairs with the new pope will change in the near future.
3. Monaco
Billionaires prefer to avoid airport bureaucracy and travel by helicopter. Let us remember that the Principality is allergic to taxes, and therefore attracts those in power around the world. Many sporting events are held here, including Formula I. The nearest airport is in the beautiful city of Nice, which is a good excuse to go shopping.
4. Liechtenstein
This central European country also has no airport or waterfront access. Like other small territories, it lives mainly because of its status as a tax haven. Those coming here are forced to land in Altenrhein (50 minutes), Zurich (90 minutes) or Friedrichshafen (two hours). Of course, the customs police will not leave your bag unchecked. Liechtenstein does not belong to the European Union, but is part of the Schengen free movement area.
5. Andorra
Whoever wants to enjoy its beautiful scenery for skiing or hiking will have to take a car. Residents of the principality often use airports in Lleida (2 hours 20 minutes), Toulouse (2.5 hours) or Barcelona (also 2 hours) for flights. Andorra does not have its own armed forces, so it delegates these tasks to Spain and France. Thus, you can use any of the airports in these countries.
Therefore, when organizing international delivery of goods from these European countries, do not forget to take this point into account.
